How Sleeping Early and Quitting Social Media Unlocked My Creativity
I would like to share my personal experience with a simple lifestyle change that transformed my thinking and creativity for the better: sleeping early, waking early, and turning off all social media and my phone.
At first, I used to stay up late, and my day was filled with constant scrolling on my phone and social media. I noticed that my mind was scattered, my focus was weak, and my creative ideas were almost nonexistent. I decided to try a new routine: sleep before 9 p.m., wake up at dawn, and dedicate the first two hours of my day without any screen or notifications.
The result was amazing. Sleeping early gave my mind real rest, so I woke up with a clear head and high energy. Turning off social media and my phone freed me from distraction, comparison, and digital noise. I started thinking more deeply, solving problems in new ways, and creative ideas emerged that I had never imagined.
I discovered that the mind is like a muscle; it needs rest and calm to be creative. When we remove distractions, we give our brain a chance to focus and connect ideas. Waking early gives us the stillness and clarity of the morning, which is an ideal time for reflection, planning, and creativity.
I advise everyone to try this routine for at least two weeks: turn off your phone an hour before bed, sleep early, and wake up with the first light. You will notice the difference in the clarity of your mind, the strength of your thinking, and the flow of your creativity.
